How to help
Thanks to the amazing generosity of local people and businesses, at the moment there is no need for further donations of food, clothing or cleaning materials.
If you would like to help financially there are several different ways of doing this, including:

The funds above will be channelled through the Two Ridings Community Foundation (see centre column), with the stipulation that they are used specifically in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.

The Upper Dales Flood Relief Fund to provide short-term help to people hit by the flooding has been set up in memory of the late Coun John Blackie.

Richmond Motor Club have pledged £7,500 from club funds to local charitable organisations to help those affected by the devastating flooding and to Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team, whose rescue services at the height of the floods and ongoing support has proved invaluable to the community. They are calling on members of the club and other Motor Clubs, who gain so much enjoyment from this area, to help raise this donation to £10,000. RMC are running a Just Giving page to raise money to help the local community hit by the floods and Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team - click here to contribute.

How to get help
NEW - Friday morning drop-ins
Drop-in sessions for those affected by the recent flooding have been organised by the Two Ridings Community Foundation and Richmondshire Community & Voluntary Action.
They will be held in the Memorial Hall on Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm on October 4 and 18, and November 1, 15 and 29.
A range of organisations will be available to provide information and support. Residents can meet the community support worker and grant case worker, or just pop in for free cake and a cuppa.

Help for farmers who have lost feed and bedding is available from Forage Aid.
The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust administers the Roger Stott Community Grant. Their current application window is 23rd September to 28th October. Up to £1500 is available for community or voluntary groups with an income of under £30k per year, for a wide range of uses including capital items and revenue costs. They are keen to hear from any community groups that may have been affected by recent flooding e.g. village halls, sports facilities, or any equipment owned by a group that has been damaged?
